Million Faces

I know that I bashed Paolo Nutini a little bit previously. But when you pay for a concert and the performer is noticeably drunk, it tends to leave a bad taste in your mouth and a cacophonous sound in your ear. But I have been listening to Paolo Nutini's debut album, These Streets, and I am starting to have a different opinion about the young Scot.

Here's an acoustic and sober (?) version of my favorite song on These Streets, "Million Faces"

Interesting fact: Paolo is only 22, which makes him 2 years older than me. Which means, we could have a future together. More to come.

Dave Barnes Update

Remember that Dave Barnes Valentines EP I was telling you about? Well I have some news. Turns out DB has decided to release this EP on February 3rd.

"So what?" you're probably wondering about now. Well, ladies and gentleman, February 3rd just happens to be my birthday. Now if you will refer to my previous blogs about Dave Barnes, you will see that I am pretty much in love with him and by the release date of this EP, I am starting to think he is in love with me.

On February 3rd, I suggest you purchase the Valentines EP and judge for yourself.

Leave Me In New York

At first, I wasn't sure if I loved this song or if I just loved New York City. I mean, when I'm on the Greyhound bus from Philly to NYC, I do listen to my playlist of New York Songs, which led me to think it was probably the latter. But after going to Hope's website, I found that it was a little bit of the two.

(Sorry- there's no official video and the audio is a little weird- check out her myspace for a better version)

Hello all -

Welcome to this. The new year. I'm a bit behind already. I have yet to put some new years resolutions together. Except rocking everyone's faces off, which I know sounds painful, but is actually like swimming in whipped cream. Yep.

A few things -

1. We are putting a Valentines EP out the first week of February. I know. Excitement gathers like the fog in Tuscany. And stuff...2 new songs, a cover, and 2 reworkings of old classics. Okay, DB classics. Whatever that means.

2. I need something from yall - Questions about love. That's right. We are putting something together for you guys that I think you are going to like, but for it to be done, I need all your questions about love. Send em on. I'm gonna take em on. One on one like Halls and Oats. Just email management@davebarnes.com with all of your wonderings about amore. Starting February 1st there will be a new website with some Valentines fun. So be involved in the fun. Send your questions in.

3. Tour dates. I'll be there, will you? More will be added...so don't you worry if your city isn't listed.

In The City- Kevin Rudolf

I first heard this song on The Hills (yes, I watch The Hills). MTV has this great site where they list the soundtracks for their shows. So maybe they don't have TRL anymore, but this feature is pretty cool.

You've probably heard Kevin Rudolf's music before. "Let it Rock" featuring Lil' Wayne is a pretty catchy song of his that I've seen on some commercials.

Anyway, I freaking love this song so check it out and check out some other Kevin Rudolf's other stuff because I think he's pretty near.

Happy New Year!

I didn't really want to write a new post because I was at 111 posts so far and didn't want to make it 112 but what the heck- it's a new year! In honor of new beginnings, I have chosen the second most overplayed graduation song (the first being Vitamin C's "Graduation (Friends Forever)."

You guessed it- today's song of the day, in honor of 2009 is Green Day's "Good Riddance."

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road
Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go
So make the best of this test, and don't ask why
It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind
Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time
Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial
For what it's worth it was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.
I hope you had the time of your life. (3x)
